I'm not sure if I'm the only one who wishes we could return to the days of less restrictions because I am truly amazed by what people used to carry on their travels back in the day. These sturdy, box-like trunks and even huge leather-like ones were the ultimate travel companions, capable of holding seemingly impossible amounts of belongings. Families would pack their grip suitcases with everything they could possibly need as if attempting to fit their entire "house and land" into those magical trunks. No wonder neighbors and extended family members eagerly awaited the return of their loved ones, hoping to receive something delightful and new from abroad. 

For the lucky ones in the Caribbean, traveling abroad was a rare and cherished experience. The anticipation of globe-trotting relatives returning home stirred excitement among every family member and even the neighbors.  The prospect of getting a taste of the exotic and unfamiliar fueled the anticipation.
